Welcome to the Heckler Plains farmstead, located at Landis & Old Morris Rds., Harleysville, Pa.   The site was 1st settled around the 1750's, so it predates the revolutionary war.   The site is part of the lower salford park system.  This past year we bonded with the historical society in an effort to help build up both groups, the historical society already over-sees two other properties .  This property consist of the house, which at the moment isn't furnished, a spring house, the outdoor bake oven which is attached to the house, a rare style bank barn, and the pavillion that we use for our food purposes during the events.  We set up crafters on the back side of the house and along the parking lot side of the house as well as on the back side of the colonial garden.  There is much more room for crafts tables above the barn on the upper side of the parking lot if needed, and we could wrap them around the other side of the pavillion as well.   Some of the time we have had a potter set up in the barn, if he is available, the last couple of years, he has been in poor health, and not been able to attend.  We are always open to suggestion on what could be used in colonial domonstrations.  Anyone that is interested in participating as a colonial demonstrator should contact us.
